It is nicely illustrated throughout and with only 24 pages, you can read it in under ten minutes. ![]() Gladys Aylward: Are You Going To Stop? is a good fit for sharing with your children and grandchildren ages 4-7. The book comes to a dramatic conclusion with Gladys' monumental 100 mile journey across the mountains with 100 orphans. Following her work there with Jeannie Lawson, Gladys started an orphanage and even adopted some children of her own. Using the money she'd saved, she was able to secure passage to China and began her work at the Inn of Sixth Happiness. After several years of praying and saving, Gladys received an invitation to assist an elderly lady missionary in China. Although Gladys kept encountering roadblocks along the way, she continued to trust in God's provision for the call he'd put on her life. Gladys was from a working class background with little education, so it was difficult for her to get a missions organization to take her seriously. Since she was a teenager, she'd had her heart set on traveling abroad as a missionary. In this book we learn about the life of Gladys Aylward, British missionary to China. Lately one of the books my girls ages 4 and 6 have been requesting over and over again at bedtime is Gladys Aylward: Are You Going to Stop? (Little Lights # 12). ![]() One of the things that Christian Focus 4 Kids has become well known for is their top notch children's books that help parents and grandparents introduce their little ones to important men and women from church history.
